The Tour

Your journey begins at the Archbasilica of Saint John in Lateran, the cathedral of Rome and original seat of the popes, where you will encounter ancient baptistery treasures and the revered Holy Stairs, brought from Jerusalem and climbed by pilgrims for centuries. Nearby, visit the Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem to stand before historic relics of the Passion, before heading to the Esquiline Hill to marvel at the glittering fifth-century mosaics inside Saint Mary Major.
The route then leads to the monumental Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, an inspiring sanctuary built over the resting place of the apostle Paul. Continuing into a quieter neighborhood, you will visit Saint Peter in Chains to view the very bonds believed to have held Saint Peter, displayed alongside Michelangelo’s breathtaking marble sculpture of Moses.
The day culminates in Vatican City, the global heart of the Catholic faith. Here you can admire the masterworks of the Vatican Museums, look upward at Michelangelo’s frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, and step beneath the soaring domes of Saint Peter’s Basilica before your driver escorts you comfortably back to your hotel. Please note that Saint Peter’s Basilica may occasionally close without prior notice for papal liturgies or ceremonies, and an on-site fee of 1.50 Euros in cash is required per visitor for basilica headsets.
